God the Artist
I some times feel like my life is a drawing. And in that drawing all the colour needs to go neatly between the lines. If some how the orange mixes to much with the red or the what should be blue is coloured yellow I begin to panic… because every thing must be prefect. Between the lines.
But who says that a drawing with symmetrical lines is better than one that curves?
Who is to say that Von Goh is a better artist than Helen Frankenthaler?
Don’t you remember when you were a kid? You could paint a green dog or a blue sunset because you were the artist and you said so. Curly lines, stars and rainbows filled up the page. Because they could. Your imagination was the limit…and it was good.
When we submit our life to Christ we are no longer the artist. He is. And guess what? God loves colour. Just look at the earth he created…curves, lines, circles, big small, in-between… sunsets (there is never one the same!), rainbows (who said red and green should never be seen?), rock formations and clouds.
God loves to create. And create he does. Using our lives as a canvas, he never paints one life the same. It some times looks like he has used too much red and it clashes with the blue, some times the lines are big and crazy some times they are soft and warm. But once finished all comes together and you can’t help but marvel at his work.
God is the master Creator... so don’t panic when the lines don’t seem to measure... or you look more blue than you do yellow... because it’s all part of a big picture. In the end it will all fit together.
